Proposal! 14th feb.

 

Review of parts 1 & 2.

Reflect on, review and summarise your progress and achievements throught the first 6 units of the programme, expressed in terms of knowledge, skill and understanding you have acquired.

Well in my mind I started off the year, very nieve unprepared for a realistic artist life and general inderpendence. But after 6months of the course I think I have realized where I stand and how I work well and I know now what motivates me to work and what doesn’t. 100% inderpendent work is what movitaves me because when I’m told a project theres a finishing spot in my mind but if its all me my project can never stop if I want for as long as I remember I have a continueing theme that fasinates me.

I’ve learnt a lot of new skills including printing and book making which I’m determined I’ll use again in life if not this year in the future. I control a penciel much better and I consider lines and how there weight really effects an image.  My compersional skills have improved greatly as well. I have also expanded my artist knowledge, and photographic tecqueic has expanded.

With photography I’ve learnt a lot about lighting and set ups and have furthered my compersional eye in photography which I belive is one of the essences of being a great photographer.

Now come up with 2 ideas for potential projects – you should give one title and write an outline description in 100 words or less

Idea 1. Expanding Raw Elements into layers.  With this idea I want to further an old idea. Were I photography raw elements like water, earth fire then layer the images on top of each other to give a layerd effect but it always looks a bit weird because there never ment to be on one enother. Then paint and do many experiments with them because what I did before was just the photography side but this time I want to be about to do the fine art side and even the fashion side.

Idea 2. Fine art figertive  photography. I’d like to be able explore a new style of figertive photography and get out of the new hd faces side of it and really bring the art back to figetive photography by even painting or printing into photographys.

WORK WORK WORK 7th - 12th feb

This week i have been doing alot of journal and catching up! i have also been deciding on what i'm going to be doing for part 3. i have had to do my proposal which has been much easeir than i thought. the main areas i want to be doing are; 

Painting, photography, nature, new experiments. so its finding a way of wording my proposal to make it as loose as possible so i can do what i want when i wont going in a forward direction!

work 4th feb

This week i have been doing sketchs and drawing, editing photos and just cleaning up all my old work because i have had to do 10+12 images for

St martins , Camberwell and chealsea all in one week.. so i dont have much to show for it but its been a tough week! 

My weeks evlauation is i'm dead so much work has been done in preporation for the 10 images for each uni and each 10 images has been differant due to the courses being differant. the only online one was camberwell. and the link to see is at the bottom.

Weeks evaluation and progress 28th- Feb 1st

For the rest of this week i have been painting flowers again nothing too exciting but thought i should start drawing and painting again.

 

Next week i think i'm going to sort out all my work and do some more painting and start sketching, people and landscapes.

Today i had to do a 15miniute explantion of all my work. infront of larnace and the rest of my group i had to show 4 images and talk about 4 artists. for the artests i talked about , Marc quinn, Bill Brandt, Paul Gauguin and Tierny Gearon.

Then after i talked about each one of theses artest and explained how the influenced me i showed my work. 

After i showed them we talked about my work for a little bit and i was explaining how i wanted to be known for fine art photography not to be known as a photographer which started a long discustion!

Week evaluation 22nd Jan

Well after a stressful last week and looking at my full portfolio i relized that i need to be doing a lot more work than i have.. i've been nieve and i need to up my game so this week i have been doing alot of solid work!

i've decided with the painting on my photography i need the images muchhh small so i printed about 100 images  out that took a good day probily two becuase i edited each image slightly. then after this i started to paint on all of theses images my aprouch was place them all on a table and start painting them all at the same time chucking paint on them and getting veryy expressive!

but then i realized they look much better on there own and with purposeful brush strokes.

Own work 17th Jan week talk

this week has been very stressful becuase i had to go up to london on wednesday to give Slade my full portfoilo for them to look it through. 

so for the last few days before i leave i've just been sorting out my work cleaning it up getting ride of all the old work.. which is needed but sad at the same time!

Own Work 12th - 15th Jan

For the past few days i have been playing with my printed out fire images by painting methods i've tried are more like jackson pollock style chucking of the paint on and dripping i think for next week i'm going to try a more dynamic aproach and use brush strokes. 

This is my first atempt with paint on my photos each image is A3+ i think the paint would work much better on a smaller scale something i should try out later on in the turm.

printing and experimenting 8th jan

today all i have done alll day is print out photos of my fire and edit them slightly!

First proper days of Part 2. jan 7th

today was the first day i meet my new tutor laurance sorry about the spelling i'm guessing. he is a fine artest not a photographer so i was very excited to be tought by him and all his expertise. 

didnt end up doing to much we had a talk about what he was going to do with us when we needed to be in class. 

Mondays 2pm is talking about are work i'm on the 28th jan. 
tusdays dave gives tutorials of lighting. 
thursday radom tutotorials. 

over winter i took a largee seris of photos of fire and ash and that is somehting i am going to be dveloping when i get for the next few weeks. 

Start of a new Year 2011. Januray 4th

I had decided to get back to falmouth a week eairly to get some proper work started because i always enjoy working when the space is empty. so for the first week i went to a flower shop bought 5 differant types of flowers and painted them for a week solid did nothing but go to the studio on my own with my speakers and paint paint paint! 

 

This was the final out come after 6 differant paintings.

Weeks work. + evlauation. Nov 19 - 5th Dec

In the last week and a bit we have been able to work on are own becuase we have split up into are specilist group mine is photography with this i want to make it my own little area and do fine art photography becuase who wants to be layed as a photographer! 

this week i was experimenting with new ideas and methods to do fine art photography and was planning for the next turms work ideas which i have had are; 

painting on photos
layering more photos
woodcut on a photo. 
drawing on layerd photos. 

all off these i want to try for next year.

this week i have done not as much work as i thought i could because i wasnt feeling very well and just feeling lazy one of those weeks but what i have done i think will be very important through out the year  and something i will defently do!
